Lampard supports Rio Ferdinand as England’s captain

Frank Lampard supports Rio Ferdinand as captain and says that he fully deserves his chance to lead the England team.

Rio Ferdinand is a defender of Manchester United. He has taken over John Terry. Recently Terry lost the designation after having an affair with Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend.

According to Lampard quoted in The Sun, he says that John Terry and Rio Ferdinand are big personalities and the England captain has to be someone vocal in the team. Lampard also said further that in the dressign room Rio has always been a popular fella.

Lampard said, “The controversy of the changeover and everything is unfortunate but, now it has changed, Rio deserves it and he will give it a great crack. Wayne Rooney is our best player and he will surely be England captain one day. But it’s a good idea not to burden him while he’s still so young,” he added.
