About the new England captain Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard said that he ‘deserves’ the title after winning it off John Terry. Lampard recently spoke on BBC Radio to the Chris Moyles Show about Ferdinand becoming the captain after John Terry was stripped of few days before with the title following infidelity allegations.
Frank Lampard said, ‘Well, they’re both big personalities, I think the England captain has to be someone vocal in the squad and he’s always been like that. He’s a very, very popular feller in the dressing room and easy to get on with.”
Lampard also added further that the controversy over the change in captaincy is unfortunate. He mentioned that “but now it’s changed,” and according to him Rio deserves it himself and will give it a great crack.
