Lampard returning to action after recovery

Frank Lampard makes his return to the team this Sunday after a long-awaited return from injury.

Lampard was away from field since August this year after hernia surgery and the recovery was slower-than-expected. However, though late, but one of the key players of Chelsea is back to action this weekend.

Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Chelsea said, “I think he’ll be OK for Sunday.” He said after the victory over Fulham by 1-0 on Wednesday. Manager further added, “He started to train two days ago with the team… He doesn’t have a problem, he is showing confidence. I hope he will be ready, not necessarily to play for 90 minutes but just to be involved in the squad. If he’s OK, he can start.”

Lampard had missed fourteen games after August in all competitions, but his absence has not affected the team as Chelsea is 4 points clear at the top of the table.

Salomon Kalou, forward of Ivory Coast said, “It’s nice to have the gap but four points is nothing — we have to keep winning.”

Well, the return of Lampard is perfectly timed. Fellow midfielder Michael Essien is going to miss the game against Sunderland due to suspension.

One thing is good, centre back of Brazil, Alex, is returning and also former France striker Nicolas Anelka after recovering from knee and back problems.
