Lampard nominated for Fifa’s World Player of the Yea

Frank Lampard has been nominated for Fifa’s World Player of the Year award. Along with him Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney have also been nominated out of more eight Premier League players nominated for Fifa’s World Player of the Year award.

Last year the title was won by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Among other who has been shortlisted from Chelsea for this accolate are John Terry, Michael Essien, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba.

Real Madrid and Portugal forward and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is agin the nominee.

There are 6 nominees from the European champions Spain, which included goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol, Xavi, David Villa and Torres.

Four players have been nominated from England and three from Brazil. France adds two in the list.

Brazilian Marta, as we remember her to have won the women’s award for the last three years is again nominated in the ten names alongside England’s Kelly Smith.
