Since his hernia operation in August, Lampard has been out of action, but looked to be returning back. Well, persistent groing injury of his meant that for another 20 days or so he will not be able to be a part of his team.

It is learned that Lampard was on his way at Stamford Bridge for the game against Sunderland on Sunday, November 14th. The latest setback of Lampard means he will only make his comeback next month.

so, in the match against Sunderland, Chelsea will be without Frank Lampard and also without Essien. The two will also miss the game against Birmingham City and Newcastle United.

Ancelotti said, “It is bad news, especially at this moment when Essien is suspended. It could have been a fantastic opportunity with Frank adding strength, experience and personality to the team, but this is football and we will have to wait for him.”
