Lampard impressed with U-21

It seems that Frank Lampard is highly impressed with the Under-21s. He has hailed the progress of the nation’s U-21 side under Stuart Pearce.

Young Lions of England topped in the U-21 European Championship because of the wins over Finland and Spain. The first phase was completed with a draw against old adversary Germany. They are now going to face the host-nation Sweden in the semi-finals and are marked as the favorites of the tournament.

Lampard told to the media, “There’s a lot of interest at the development of the Under-21 players to the full side, and this is evident in other nations as well. Especially as some sides have greater technical ability that the English.”

He also said that he always liked going away with the U-21s. He added further, “If you go two weeks away and don’t play then you mentally toughen up when you are on the bench. I’ve been to a World Cup and European Championship, but some other nations have perfected a routine greater than we have and adapt more to being away.”
