For the first time Frank Lampard’s girlfriend has opened her heart about their relationship. Christine Bleakley, 31, is a presenter at new ITV breakfast show Daybreak. She said that Lampard has been a big support to her when she had struggled coping with the onslaught of negative publicity around the show.
Born in Newtownards, Bleakley admitted in a revealing interview that there were times in her life when she felt she was being driven “slowly insane” as there are lies being written about her.
Bleakley refuted in the interview her controversial move to ITV from BBC involved millions of pounds deal. She added, “it always equals bitch” when a woman described in a newspaper as ambitious.
Referring to paparazzi, she said, “People do say to me ‘oh gosh, you’re in the paper again’, and I’m certainly aware of it, but you have to detach yourself from it because you’d slowly go insane.”
Last week Lampard and Bleakley celebrated their first anniversary at the Pride of Britain awards. This was the award where both were first introduced a year before. Both have been dating since then.
