Lampard appreciates Terry’s form

Frank Lampard has recently appreciated John Terry for his “brilliant form” in this season. The reason behind Lampard’s saying this is that Terry is as one of the main reasons for which Chelsea are now challenging for a League and FA Cup double.

Lampard says that displays of John Terry have played a major role in giving the club the top place in the Premier League by a single point from rivals Manchester United.

Sunday’s victory over the Liverpool would certainly guarantee Carlo Ancelotti the title and this will be the first of such this season as manager and it will be Chelsea’s first league crown since 2006.

John Terry will return from suspension on Sunday at Anfield. He was sent off at Tottenham in the 2-1 defeat.

This season off the pitch for his form and behaviour, Terry has come under criticism. He was also stripped of the England captaincy by Fabio Capello.

However, Lampard believes that it has to be looked beneath the hype and the controversy. He says people should recognise his efforts on the pitch this season.

He said, “I’d like to take this opportunity to stand up for JT… He’s taken a bit of stick recently but Stoke was the first league game he’s missed all season. His general form has been brilliant. That’s one of the reasons we’re top…”Technically and defensively he’s miles ahead of most of the players he gets compared to and that’s why he’s always in the FIFPro team and winning Uefa’s most valuable defender award. We all know it’s fashionable to have a pop at the top of the tree but at Chelsea we know his true value.”
