Frank Lampard recently had outlined Chelsea’s importance of retaining the FA Cup after the club had knocked the Stoke City out of the competition.
Frank Lampard scored one in the game in this 2-0 victory.
Lampard praised the way the entire team bounced back after the crushing 4-2 home defeat to last weekend in the Premier League to Manchester City.
He said to the media, “It’s never easy after a defeat like we had last week. That’s not normal for us and we didn’t play to our standards.”
John Terry, the skipper of Chelsea, echoes Lampard’s comments. He also played a part in both the goals.
He said, “It was important to show the fans how much the defeat last week hurt us. The most important thing was that we bounced back. Now Chelsea knows that they need to defeat the League Cup finalists Aston Villa so that they can make another FA Cup final. Frank Lampard assured fans that the team once again wants to lift the trophy.
He added: “It’s [the FA Cup] always important, Wembley is a great day out for the fans and the club. We hold the cup and we want to get back there, simple as that.”
