Frank Lampard received a red card for his second bookable offence in Wednesday nights Champions League group game against Bordeaux. He received his second yellow with 4 minutes to go. 3 minutes earlier Diarra had headed home a corner to acheive a well-deserved point in a dramatic night of European football.
The French side had the better of possesion throughout most of the game. It wasn’t until the 60th minute that Chelsea had their first shot on goal! No surprises on the creator! Frank Lampard picked up a loose ball in midfield and slotted a great ball into the feet of Nicolas Anelka, who did brilliantly to bring home his 14th goal of the season (second in the Champions League). Chelsea then settled down and played their possesion game, which was not enough for them to hold onto the 3 points.
This result means that Chelsea FC need points against CFR Cluj, and they need to get them without our Frank Lampard! Bordeaux travel to Roma in a night which will determine the top 2 of Group A.
