Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Chelsea, believes that Lampard holds the key to top of the table Premier League clash of Saturday at Old Trafford against the Manchester United. In the last weekend match, Frank Lampard scored 4 of the 7 goals that Chelsea slammed past Aston Villa. This seems that Lampard has recaptured his top form. Carlo Ancelotti feels that the timing of his returning back to form is perfect.
He said, “Lampard is a very dangerous midfielder. I know that Fletcher and Carrick are also fantastic midfielders, but Lampard knows the right time to go into the box.”
He also added further, “He is very difficult to block even if you mark man-to-man because he is a very dynamic player. A player who can score an average of 20 goals a season from midfield is unique. We can use his quality to beat Manchester United but it is not enough to use only Lampard. We have a lot of quality and we want to use all these qualities.”
However, there is little to bother for Ancelooti as the other key players such as Ricardo Carvalho, Branislav Ivanovic, Michael Essien, Jose Bosingwa and Ashley Cole are injured at present. However, Didier Drogba has returned back to the starting line-up, but he had missed the victory over the Aston Villa.
Right now the Blues trail United by just 1 point at the top of the table. The team will return to the summit if the side is able to beat the reigning champions for the third time in this season.
The manager has yet to take the Blues to Old Trafford, He also admits at the same time that it will be difficult for the squad to take control of the match.
