Lampard points out to England’s performances in the qualifying victory against the Belarus saying that England national team boasts the strength to flourish in the absence of key personnel. He is confident that this can be the most significant and satisfying season of his career.
Frank Lampard said, “There is enough depth there… People question it, but there have been a lot of games in the last two years where [key] players have not played and we had to change the side.”
He added that Germany was the biggest one, but the England squad performed well and as a result they were able to beat a good team. According to Lampard this proves that there is depth in the team. Lampard also mentioned that the good thing is when the players came in when the Wayne Rooneys or Steven Gerrards were out and the team were still staying strong. He said that people will never be able to replace them exactly, but if these missing players can come in then the team stays strong and that is a great sign.
