Chelsea vs Arsenal

Chelsea FC stay top of the premiership tonight despite an unlucky loss against London rivals Arsenal. Everything seemed to be going right after Chelsea went ahead after a 31st minute own goal by Johan Djourou. Again, they settled into their possession game, but never really threatened to go 2 up. Although Frank Lampard had a great second half opportunity to finish the game, but shot JUST wide.

Arsenal got lucky with their first goal. After some great passing, the ball was slotted through to Van Persie who went on to strike the ball into the top right hand corner. However, he was AT LEAST 2 yards offside! I believe that the linesman missed it completely, because as soon as Van Persie had the ball, it looked as if Chelsea defenders had played him on side. Either way, a ridiculous call by the linesman. A call, which changed the outcome of the game. Van Persie then went on to score another fantastic goal, as the ball was knocked down to him by Emmanuel Adebayor, he turned and struck the ball into the bottom right corner, past Czech.

A very disappointing result for Chelsea players and fans a like. Scolari felt the ref had “killed his team”, and rightly so. Chelsea looked in complete control after the 31st minute own goal. Liverpool now have the chance to go top of the league tommorow vs West Ham (kick off 8PM GMT).

Lampard is the man and he will undoubtedly lead Chelsea to the top of the Premiership!
This one loss won’t matter in the grand scheme of things ;)

Chelsea, the blues are totally dead after their defeat by the Gunners. Do not lose hope Frank! Loss is a part of the game. Try to utiliize new formations and tatics and prepare for the next exciting game!
