Recently Frank Lampard said that he is willing to sacrifice his tendencies of natural attacking. This he said to make his role suit alongside Steven Gerrard.
Frank Lampard also added while talking to the media that he is playing a different role this time. He said that it is much more of a holding position, while Steven has been asked to play more on the left. He also mentioned that to be fair, this has worked.
The players are playing under Fabio Capello who has allowed Steven Gerrard to play a more attacking role.
Even Goran Eriksson and Steve McClaren, who were before Fabio Capello, failed to utilize the duo during their time.
Frank Lampard also said in his brief, “The way Capello works is very authoritative. Other managers will sit you down and ask how this or that is going, whereas he will just tell us how we’re going to do it.”
