The first goal to the victory happened just within 25 seconds. It was the fastest goal scored by Everton. Louis Saha made FA Cup history with this goal. However, the blues fought back to pick up a 2-1 victory.
Frank Lampard said that the blues deserved the glory. He said to the Sky Sports in response to his wonderful left-footed drive, “It is very special. Personally it is great to score the winning goal and it will probably sink in a bit later.”
He added that But as a group and a team, the Blues deserved it today. He also said that Everton did exceptionally well to get to Wembley.
Lampard further mentioned that they had put all the hard work in to how to get close to the Champions League final and hence it was very important for them to win.
To the record breaking opening due to Louis Saha, Lampard claimed that he was delighted to be part of the resilient side that clawed back to lift the FA Cup.
